Named after two of the three syllables their first names share, Rebekah Pennington and Rebecca Wilson are Ekkah, a Nu-Disco / Funk duo of multi-instrumentalists from the U.K. Creating relaxed dance floor bangers inspired by early 80s pop and R&B, Ekkah have reignited the need for a live disco sound which weaves soul, disco and funk into energetic pop tunes. Ekkah boast features in editorial playlists, supporting Clean Bandit and millions of streams already.

Partyline is a rolling groover from Ekkah. The standout in this track has to be the sequenced synth which underpins the entire track. Carrying the bassline and adding the structure, this is a true piece of art which Ekkah have added. This track is one which will make you smile - it evokes memories with the chorus effect on the melody which lingers on the brink of chaos but Ekkah have managed to tame it and keep it musical. Layer upon layer of electronic fizz keeps the song fresh and the vocal lead is as catchy as anything you’ll hear this year. With obvious nods to the synth wave boom of the 1980s, Partyline is a contemporary classic.

I haven't heard anything as just completely perfectly formed out of the gate--every decision the right one, what to include but more what to exclude--maybe ever. Don't know who Sault is, but they do not sound like they could be anyone who hasn't paid some dues to get this good. Or signed some Satanic contracts. 100% confidence, and it sounds 110% earned.
